Albert HANDTMANN Holding GmbH & Co. KG was founded in Germany in 1873, and is a leading engineering firm, which manufacturers machinery for plastics and metal working operations. HANDTMANN GmbH remains a family firm, with a strong sense of corporate social responsibility, and a workforce of over 1,500 people. HANDTMANN started life as a bell foundry, but quickly branched out into manufacturing equipment for the brewing industry. The post-war period saw the firm become established as a manufacturer of machinery for the food production sector, as well as becoming experts in aluminium casting, as well as plastics moulding. The 1980s saw HANDTMANN expand across borders, opening a British subsidiary for selling the company's meat processing equipment. This was followed in 2005 by the opening of a foundry in Kosice, Slovakia, making HANDTMANN a firm which operates across Europe. Later HANDTMANN CNC Technologies Inc. get opened in North America making it truelz global companz. However, the company remains anchored in the German town of Biberach, where it was founded. It also retains a focus on the environment, with detailed policies regarding waste disposal, emissions and the hazardous materials. HANDTMANN machines have a global interest as well, with sales subsidiaries in the Americas, Europe, South Africa, Australia and Asia. This reflects the emphasis that the firm places upon securing export markets for its machinery in a competitive global economy.
