Slitting and cut-to-length lines are a combination out of several machines, which can produce intermediary and end products using wound material. They are particularly efficient solutions for the steel industry, as they can process the delivered coals in no time.

How are slitting and cut-to-length lines used?

Slitting and metal cut-to-length lines are used for further processing wound band material. They is most commonly wound up sheet metal coils. Punching facilities are one of the most common users of slitting and cut-to-length lines. They are used to produce components for general production, electronics and technology, for the construction industry. Slitting line and cut-to-length lines can be simultaneously used. The slitting line prepares the steel band for being processed on the cut to the length line. The cut-to-length line machine processes the band into the desired end product.

What is the structure of Slitting Line Machine and Cut-To-Length Lines?

A slitting line differs from a cut-to-length line in that it offers the sheets lengthwise. They are primarily used for the production of slit strips. With their help, wound-up band material can be cut into several, smaller strips, without changing the length of the material. Splitting plants are made up of a winding up and unwinding reel. Between the two reels, there is a cutting tool. Another type of slitting line is a profile line. This is where the band material is processed over an adjustable roller system. The profile is, for example, used in the production of composite panels or trapezoidal panels. A cut-to-length line cuts and processes the unwound band material transverse to the direction it would unwound. cut-to-length lines do not have a winding reel. Therefore, the finishing of productions directly from the band material can be undertaken with a cut-to-length line with several series-connected machine tools.Generally, a cut-to-length line is made out of a unwinding reel, a roller transportation system, metal shears and optionally a punch or press. Combined with one or several industrial robots, these machines can reach a very high level of efficiency.

Slitting line machine and cut-to-length lines work very quickly and mainly automatically. Due to their many processing possibilities, cut-to-length lines are very complex machines. Qualified personnel is a basic requirement when using slitting and cut-to-length lines.
